Were the early A-230 side covers iron or aluminum? All the pics I find are so filthy it's hard to tell.

Aluminum on all I have here & have seen so far - (1970-74 model year units)

My 1973 medium duty 230 3speed came out of a 340 Duster, it has the aluminum side cover
