Does this act as a residual pressure valve?

Don't know, but I've had to replace mine. Ask over at neons.org After thinking about it a bit, I wouldn't think so, cause Neon brakes aren't split front and rear, but diagonally, so that means there would be residual pressure on the front also. But, I could also be wrong, just thinking out loud.

I think the bird has the word, not to mention that thing is likely metric thread.

They really do that with a disc/drum setup? wow...

@Supercuda, yes one would think so but, no, it uses fractional sizes.

Thanks guys!

Diagonal split is common for front wheel drive cars, has been for a long time.

What is the reason for replacing the existing valve?

Doing a disc conversion, While looking at residual pressure valves, this came up. The aftermarket M/Cs dont come with a RPV.
Looked like it would be a clean way to install a valve for the rear drums.

modern wheel cylinder design doesn't require RPV's.

But if you need some

Any idea what year the cutoff between need an RPV and you don't?
I replaced the wheel cylinders about 6 years ago, they seemed to be the same as the cylinders that were on there. But in all fairness, I wasn't looking at the old parts with any kind of details inside.

They look like this

that for a 65 Fury

no idea of the cut off or for that matter if ever aftermarket maker does it.
