What do you guys recommend for paint on the rear window shelf? Brand and flat or satin? thanks in advance.

The metal base is body color.

If you are referring to the hardboard insert they were made in matching colors, no paint.

These details may change if you mention your actual type of car & model year though. wink

A little more info might help.
Kind of vehicle and such.

Going off what is here I would say go with the flat as gloss will mirror lite off the back window into your rear view mirror.

I sprayed the hardboard package tray for my 68 Coronet with Herb's interior paint. Came out really good. Very good paint. I used the 1968 dark green spray paint.

SEM Color Coat Landau black. I have mine mixed and gun it with a detail gun. Comes out perfect.

Same here, works perfect and holds up.
Even SEM Color Coat out of a rattle can it will get the job done.
