FiTech FCC Acting up - Looking for 1974 Satellite in tank FP

Title says it all. Does anyone know of a sumped tank for a 1974 Satellite? Damn car has everything weird on it.

I am going to search for others setups for electric fuel pumps to the EFI unit. Just started acting up.

I guess at idle it is boiling fuel. We sit and watch the pressure gauge go from 43 lbs down into the 30s and the car dies. Need to change it out.

I'm running the aeromotive phantom in my 74. Just recently had my first issue with fuel level being too low, but it probably only had about 1-2 gallons left in the tank. I bought a new 73 tank and put the fuel pump in it. The 73 tank doesn't have the hump for the evaporator. Plugged up the unused vent lines. I did have to mangle the fuel level arm, so my gas gauge is more of a "yes or no" indicator at this point. But I haven't had any fuel delivery problems otherwise

Since you have already invested in the FCC, what do you have for a return line from the FCC to the tank? I know they call it a vent line, but if you read all the instructions and user comments it's clear it's a return line and not just a vent. With a good unrestricted return others have gotten the FCC to work. You will need a return if you go in-tank anyway, so why not try it first?

I went with the in-tank setup for my 64 after reading the comments on the FCC. Had to modify my existing tank to put the Aeromotive Phantom 340 in it.

Acting up how?

Well as I described, the fuel pressure just slowly fades away as the car is being driven or sits and idles. Either the mechanical fuel pump is bad of the fuel pump in the sump is getting hot. I think.

We are looking at running a full return line this weekend and then removing the float and brass filter from the command center as others have done and see if this keeps the pump cool. The command center has been on the car over a year and the car recently starting having problems staying running. Def fuel related.

Maybe there is a vacuum being created

He's right, not just a vent, it's DEFINITELY a return line. I learned this from experience, so if you haven't done this yet, try it first.

If not already done, the pump can be slowed down at idle and low speeds to prevent overheating; read the part about PWM in the link below.

I do not believe the vent on the FCC is intended to be a return line under normal conditions, it vents vapors and act as a relief if the internal float fails to shut off fuel flow. I've never seen fuel flow from my vent.

I am going to do the FCC modification and run a full 3/8s return line.

I will remove float and bronze filter and just let the fuel circulate. I let this car idle for 30 mins trying to bring it up to temperature and the sump was too hot to touch. That cant be good for th efuel.
