Big block re-pop 6 quart oil pan total capacity w/filter?

Does anyone know what the total oil capacity is on the re-pop big block oil pans.

The pan is listed as 6 quarts but does that mean with a new standard oil filter the total oil capacity is 7 quarts?

Which brand, part number and what motor and body style pan are you asking about?

That is a copy of the original Mopar 1970/71 hemi and 440 6 pack 6 quart oil pan, I use them all the time It holds six quarts in the pan and you need to add one quart for the stock type oil filter
Do NOT use the Summit oil pick up in that pan It ends up about two to two and half inches above the bottom of that pan
I bought one of Pioneers stock OEM replacement 3/8 pick up for that pan that works excellent

The oil pan is on a freshly rebuilt 1968 440 engine with Six Pack that's in my wife's 71 R/T Challenger.

The engine is running great and I'm getting ready to change out the break in oil.

I did use Summit's recommended oil pickup with their pan but everything was checked by my engine builder and the engine will not be driven hard so hopefully there will be no issues.

Are you going to change the oil yourself or have it done?
If you do it take the oil dipstick out before draining the oil and after most or all of the oil has drain out take the dipstick out and use it to see how close the oil pickup is to the bottom of the oil pan through the oil drain plug hole
I shoot for contact at the front of the pickup to no more than the width of the dipstick sideways between the lowest part of the pick up to the pan bottom
If it is higher than that I remove the pan on the engine stand and do what is needed to get it to fit the way the factory service manuals recommends

I waited for someone with correct knowledge to respond. Cab has it right and very good advice.
I've never met a 6 pk pan that didn't use 7 quarts with the filter either.

If the pickup is 2-21/2" above the bottom there could be a oil starve problem on steep driveways, hills, or steep trailer ramps. Please check on this distance like Cab suggests.

I already did the oil/filter change myself.

I'm using a chrome aftermarket dipstick/tube and the oil level after 7 quarts was high on the dipstick.
I wanted to make sure I didn't have too much oil in it at 7 quarts and needed to remove a quart.
I ran the engine, let it site overnight then made a mark on the dipstick where the oil level was.

I discussed the oil pickup depth and windage tray clearance along with a bunch of other questions with the engine builder back when I dropped off the engine and all the parts.
He told me he always mocks up the pan and checks the oil pickup depth and location on his builds.

He is a reputable Mopar engine builder who has built some very fast Mopar big blocks, some for members here at Moparts which is where I got his reference from.

I'm sure if the pickup wasn't in the right spot he would have modified or replaced the pickup I gave him.

I couldn’t figure out what pan I wanted to run on my 451. So we used a 187 pan since I already had it, until I made up my mind. I wasn’t sure if the Hemi pan fit an a body. Engine was broken in but before I installed it I decided to Try the 440source Hemi pan. I didn’t want to ditch the break in oil so I drained it into a 5 gallon bucket, installed the Hemi pan and put the oil back in. It barely registered on the stick. I want to say I had to put 2 1/2 more quarts in. I was surprised it held that much more oil.
