70 challenger 383 throttle cable - 09/20/18 03:18 PM

I'm on my 3rd cable now and still don't have one that fits correctly. Carb, intake, and brackets are all stock. The bracket is slightly different than what's in the SM, but appears the anchor point is the same from the firewall. I've bought one off of ebay which is listed specifically for my car and also the best mancini had to offer, neither would work. The one I have now works but is still too long. If anyone has bought recently and are happy with it, let me know. Link is for the one I have now.

the black outer sheath or the inner cable is too long? (or both). Been awhile since I was working with one but can you shorten the inner cable on the pedal end (recrimp a mini ball on the cable iirc) if the inner cable is too long.

when using a cable that is "slightly" too long, i have reverted to fabbing an aluminum spacer that fits the ID of the ferrule, [length to be whatever is needed] with the OD the same as the ferrule "stop" flange. you could also use tubing of the appropriate size. last resort would be washers or a nut, but that would look kinda hackish.

Both inner and outer needs to be shorter by an inch or two. I don't like how it's bowed up. If I shortened the inner cable, I think the outer housing would have to slide forward some. I guess that's all doable, but it would be nice to have a correct fitting cable..........in a perfect world I guess.

After my third cable I would be (more than) a bit perturbed too.
