Help please - 09/17/18 06:05 PM

Hi guys need some help. Bought a offenhauser duel quad intake for my 440. Thought I knew what size carbs it took. I bought over the weekend two used Holly 600 carbs, but when I got them home and set them on the intake the bolt patterns are not anywhere close to lineing up. My question is do I have the wrong carbs if so what kind do I need? Or is there a trick I’m not aware of that can be done? I really do not want to use eddlabrach carbs please help.

Thank you Preston

Just about every dual quad Offy intake I ever saw for Mopars say "No Holleys, no way".

IIRC the Offy was set up for the old small bore/base WCFB carbs, been a few years since I've played with Offy's, but to run the Holleys you're gonna need adapters, and decide inline or sideways for the bowls, best bet is inline for easy linkage assembly

Carter AFB style carbs, Edlebrock.

To give you valid recommendations on this we need to know more about your motor and how you use that car shruggy work
440 motors love more air and fuel, especially at the race tracks devil
That being said you may not want neck snapping torque and out of control tire spinning either with a stock chassis and street tires work grin whistling whistling
AKA aside, tell us all you can about the car and motor up

I don't have a part number for you, but I think you'll have a lot easier time running Edelbrock (Carter) carbs. I'd ballpark 600-650 cfm unless you have a race motor....honestly, you might see if you can go even smaller like some old Competition Series (Carter) 500 cfm carbs...I mean, that's still 1000 cfm....a lot of carb any way you look at it.
