71 Barracuda Rear Tailight panel color?

I have a 1971 Barracuda Convertible I'm restoring and was wondering how to tell if the rear taillight panel was the original body color or flat black. I have some pictures from the previous owner that goes back to 1973 showing it flat black. Could this be correct?

Do you have the rear M88 stainless trim around the rear panel perimeter?....if not, then No black out should be present

It's a Barracuda?, not a Gran Coupe correct?

There is no stainless and it is a Barracuda.

My 71 barracuda vert did not have the stainless trim at the rear panel and was painted body color. 2nd owner.

Your fender tag will be coded M88 if it was black and had trim.

Back in the 80s I parted out a 70 Barracuda with A22 rubber bumpers and M88 rear panel trim and flat black
