I wanna cut a junk LA head to make a piston valve notch cutter like what hughes rents. this will be for a mag head LA 360. thank you for your time.

I think the valve angle is the same. Not sure you need to cut-up a head for the fixture, just don't pull the valve all the way up to the valve seat area. I think the cutter is just a valve that has been slotted and carbide cutter(s) inserted and welded in place?

Good point, I may be OK as is with some care to not nick anything. there was a utube vid & the guy epoxied a rough piece of sandpaper to a valve face & another guy did what you said, carved a valve to make some cutting edges

I think Lisle tools make a fly cutter that you could use with a bare head.
