1966 Coronet 500 - Upper Door Frame Color??

1966 Coronet 500 - Upper Door Frame Color?? - 07/21/18 04:19 AM

Was the upper door frame color keyed to the interior color (white for P4W, black for P4X, Y for P4T, etc) or did the upper door frame paint color vary and could possibly even be the body color (like PP1 bright red on a PP1 car with a P4W white interior)?

Thanks!

I had a green 66 500 and the upper portion was black, matching the dash.
black seats, but green door panel.

If the car has body-colored upper door frame paint, not matching the interior, what does the fender tag say under "PAINT"?

PAINT
KK1 K?
RR1 R?
SS1 S?

Or did they just leave the last spot blank to indicate body color?

What does your tag say?

Tag is missing (consider why would I ask if I had a tag?), just trying to understand what it originally looked like.

Galen's white book (v9) doesn't list a 'K' for upper door frame paint color in 1966 (think KK1 car) but I am finding 'K' on the tag of a 1966 Valiant (KK1_K) so I think the book just omits it.
