Edelbrock has a series that's a copy of the Carter AVS, up to 800 CFM if I recall, as well as a new AVS II model. Also, call Scott Smith @ Harms Auto (member here) and see what he wants to go through your carb. I'll assume the car has its original AVS?

the edelbrock 650 is nearly identical to a stock 383avs in size. should make a nice replacement.

I do have the original . the car runs very strong. I have to prime the carb to start and if it sits over 35 ~ 40 minutes I will have to reprime carb . Car can sit up 25 ~ 30 minutes and still start . I have replaced the fuel pump already. I have other mopars with same 383 4 speeds that can use a carb …. so I'm thinking if it fixes the problem I will them have the original rebuilt and still use the new carb ????? and be driving my Bee !!!

new carb probably won't fix needing to prime the carb every 35-40 minutes. address that problem first before you spend several hundred dollars.

Do you have the exhaust cross-over blocked? If not, the heat can boil these new fuel blends out of some carbs in a short time. The Carters seem to be more prone to this than the Holleys.

A good insulator between the intake and carb is also a good idea.
