My painter asked if I wanted the roof painted with base\clear prior to install of the vinyl, I was not sure how the factory did it. So does anyone know if the vinyl is applied over primer or the clear. The painter says the clear seals the metal from the moisture? Made sense.

Either single stage or base clear, paint it for sure.

Agree fully paint it. Vinyl can trap moisture and the steel needs all the help it can get. Not sure what the factory did.

I just did my 73 and sealed it with SPI epoxy, then paint.
