No, and of course that's a good thing.

And think about it........"synchromesh" is the very reason (brass) that we don't want EP additives in our gearboxes.

Correct you do NOT want a GL5 gear oil in your 833

I tried it after reading about on this board awhile ago and it did not like it. Gear grinding du jour.

This subject has been debated many times here with many informative and interesting posts. It's a worthy topic with the search function.

My 2 cents...

Buy the juice Jamie Passon sells!

Sycromesh is a good lube for syncro transmissions that like lighter lube. An 833 likes heavier lube above very cold temps like <10 F. GL4 gear lube is good if you can find it around 90 weight or higher. Redline MT90 is probably better. A synthetic with high temp characteristics of 90 weight and syncro friendly.

I put in STA-LUBE 85W-90 GL4 in my 833, but I started to notice a problem with getting it into 2nd gear when cold. Things improve some once its warmed up. I have had people tell me to go with a ATF / Gear Oil mix, but what ratio 50/50, 25/75 should I try?

A lot of the new Mopar 4 speed cars came with straight ATF in them from the factory for cars sold in cold weather states, mostly east of the Rockies and north of the Mason Dixon line work
Mopar had NP update the synchro assemblies multiple times also, the early 1964 to 1967 NP833 first generation synchro mesh where horrible to shift when cold, below 60F shruggy
