440 A body throttle cable setup

440 A body throttle cable setup - 05/21/18 04:22 AM

I was wondering what everyone is using for throttle cable setups on a 440 Abody?
My issue now is that the cable is super close to the valve cover and that the pedal has a lot of resistance. Any input to a nice new setup would be great 👍

Did you use stock mounts or ears?

Mine is fine, close, but works smoothly. Different (taller) intake & aftermarket bracket, though.
Looks like you have a plastic oil pressure line; I'd recommend you run a metal line instead.

Wrong length cable, and it should be further up towards the front of the engine. Using a Holley carb is also an issue. Most people go to a completely aftermarket set-up.

Was it a 6 cylinder car, cable does look to long. Find a V8 cable if so

Buy and adjustable bracket that lines up properly. Mancini Racing and Hughes Engines carry them. Been around for 20 years........

iagree Cable looks fine. If we had a side shot I would bet the resistance is coming from the different heights of the bracket and carb linkage. Mancini has a good one.
