I found a 68 chrysler imperial out at the junk yard that has discs but its a C body. Will these spindles fit on my 71 roadrunner?
I ran into problem trying to find discs because my car doesn't have that rubber biscuit between the K frame and the frame rail. I also found a 73' satellite and 74' charger that had discs but they both had that rubber biscuit. I dont know if i can use those spindles because they might be taller. So I need some advice if I can use the spindles off that imperial and if I could use the spindles off those mopars that have that rubber isolator in order to fit on my 71 roadrunner that doesn't have that rubber isolator (metal to metal bolt in, no isolator).

The c body disc will not work , the 73 B body setup can work. The spindle is about 3/8" taller , otherwise everything is the same. Though there is sligthly more angle on the ball joint (I think) at full extension of the suspension there are no known, at least to me, ball joint failures because of it. I think Firm Feel has a modded ball joint for those to scared to run it ??? That taller spindle is used on F,J,M and R bodies .
If you can find a 73 up a body that has the same spindle as you would want on your 71 .

You can't use Imperial or C-body brakes.
The best junkyard disc brake brake swap is 73'-'76 A/E body brakes, or the more common (taller) '73 and newer B/F/M/J/R body stuff.
The 3/8" taller knuckles work fine.

If you run slider calipers toward the front of the car, you can use off-the-shelf '73-'76 A-body disc brake hoses.
If you end up with late model B-body pin calipers, run them toward the rear of the car and use a DOT stainless 15" flex hose with 7/16" banjo fitting. This set up works nicely on pre '70 B and A bodies equipped with stock front sway bar.

I have the design for a bearing that will allow the use of a C body rotor on an B (or A/E/FMJ) spindle. The nice thing about that is the C body rotor is 1.25 thick so the Viper calipers fit without any pad spacers. I'm not sure if I'll ever get any of the bearings made or not though. It costs some money to get a special bearing made even if the modification is easy to do.

Even if you make the adapter for C body to B the Imperial stuff still wont work.The brakes were strictly Imperial.They even had If I remember from my 66 a 5 inch bolt pattern.Plus Imps took the huge ball joint.Rocky

Yep, the C body rotors are heavy but at least the weight is in the correct location. With C body rotors and Viper calipers a person would have a pretty good track setup that would fit inside of 15 inch rims. That would be a cool deal for a NASCAR type setup with steel rims.

Imperials (I think up to 71?)do have the 5" bolt circle tho....

Yes, the 1973 C rotor uses the same inner wheel bearing as the A body rotor. The outer wheel bearing is slightly larger on the C body. The length is basically the same.

late 72 -73 are one piece.
69 -72 early are two piece.
