External Fuel Pump

My 1965 Coronet Hemi has 3/8" fuel lines and the standard mechanical fuel pump. Do some weekend drag racing.
Does it make sense to install an external electric fuel pump?
If yes,
- which pump is the best?
- remove the mechanical pump?
- which pessure is recommended?
- do I need additional fuel filters before/after the fuel pump?
- which is the correct site for installation of the fuel pump (e.g. how many inches from the fuel tank?)
