70 Duster headliner - 04/15/18 08:38 PM
Did all Dusters come with bows for the headliner? I was going to recover the headliner in my Duster, but when I removed it, there were no bows. It was held in place with the trim pieces and the dome light (as well As the the sun visors). If the bows are needed, where can I find them?
TIA

My '70 has its original vinyl headliner; never pulled it down, but sure looks like it would need bows to hold it up. My '72 has a 1-piece fiberboard headliner that's held in by the garnish moldings and dome lamp, but it's not original to the car. My '74 had the same headliner as the '72 has, and I'm sure it was original to the car.

my buddy's 72 duster had a fiberboard headliner, and changed it to a conventional one. he got the bows from a yard down south somewhere, and the guy that did his upholstery drilled the bow holes and sewed the headliner.

You will also need the side pocket clips & rear retainers (this set was one pocket clip short)

Mine is the fiberboard kind. I just covered it in black headliner material. Same with the sail panels.

My Duster & Demon has the holes already in the metal for the bows. Theres usually a cluster of 3 holes, with 4-5 clusters of holes. The ends on the bows fit into the holes, no clips are needed. I can dig up a picture if that would help.
