Mystery Electrical Part - 04/09/18 07:21 PM

This came in the box with my 70 Super Bee. Any ideas of what it is and where it goes, or even if it for this car?

Thanks,
Jeff

The wiring and internal spring/plastic pin look like the reverse light switch on my 68 Dart. The housing is different though.(my Dart has a floor shifter) If I had to take a guess, I'd say it's a reverse light switch for a column shift application.

Wouldn't the switches for the reverse lights be on the transmission's themselves, either manual or auto?

68 used a NSS with one pin...not three like the later models. The reverse light switch is on the shifter. Not sure when they switched to the new three prong NSS. 69 or 70?

YES it's a reverse light switch for a column shift 1968 and older had them on column, not Trans. In 1969 they went to the 3 prong neutral safety switch and backup switch combo.
