70 Roadrunner Heat Riser Valve Question.

Just picked up a 70 Roadrunner to restore and have a question about the RH exhaust manifold heat riser valve. The one I have now doesn't work properly, just kinda flops around when the car is running. To wire the valve open until I can rebuild that, does the valve rotate in the clockwise or counter clockwise direction when it opens up? Seems like it would be clockwise and hate to tear all this apart now just to see that.

counter clockwise is open, 1/4 turn clockwise is closed. It should only move a 1/4 turn or 90 degrees.
