A Carter Thermo-Quad Guide ( tqguide-Vaanth ) - 02/19/18 02:40 AM

Is there somebody able to update this website:

http://www.carbkitsource.com/tech/Carter/pages/tqguide-Vaanth.html

I found a carb locally which on listing doesn't get listed the rods, primary and secondary jets sizes and I got them

6394

rod---1941
secondary jet---5137

waiting to get cleaned the primary jets to figure it out

Hello Nacho, on a side note did you ever hear back from our Aussie buddy on the .008" lifters?

HARD to tell the primary size. One is sanded and this one reads...

095? Maybe?

095 seems to be pretty much standard primaries for 340

Can't find specs for 1941 rods

I have seen that list many, many times over the years. But I've never seen an update to it.

If you can, find a drill index and use bits as gauges.
Use the blank end that goes in drill not the sharp end.

Did you try emailing the person who runs the site?

They might not be updating that page since that's not the original site for the vaanth guide and there are several other sites with it floating around.

yes I guess that. But IF SOMEBODY CARES and knows the guy who originally wrotte that nice info, well I got a carb with missed specs on the table.

Guys I have a dig caliper that maybe could work ( if ends fits on opening )

This looks to be a very good option.

I don't have any drill index handy.

The stamped number doesn't look to be an 8, and I can't find any fact 96s were available, so my guess is simply a 95 being the fact mostly of factory setups used 95s

still have to search the 1941 rods specs

I've seen Vaanth's thermoquad guide floating around the internet for 15 years now. The page says it was written by Gary Lewallen in 1998. That was 20 years ago! He also has a page in the moparts tech archive from the old mopar mailing list on the 8.75 diff. Gary assembled a wealth of knowledge for us years ago when all that was available had to still be dug out of books, magazines and catalogs. If Gary is still alive it would be fun to hear from him and hear about his history with the hobby.
