seatbelt cleaning boiling water and what cleaner

what do you put in the water when cleaning the seatbelts in boiling water? do you just put the entire seatbelt in the boiling water

Um I don't know about the boiling water, but nylon melts it. I used a pressure washer on mine and they
look like brand new with only water.

How bad did the belts look before? Was there a lot of crud on them - and that is what the washing will fix?

Mine are old and very faded ... I'd love to freshen up the look, but I'm afraid that washing them will make them worse...

i read in mcg magazine a few years back that you could boil them with some cleaner. I did it and just put some degreaser in it and they are a lot better. The material is great but the metal needs to be cleaned more. i got the belts from Tony D. and they are in great shape.
they did not discolor at all.

I don't think I used a cleaner when I did mine but I did use rit dye and salt when boiling/dying them--worked GREAT. I was paranoid the black would bleed on the wifes clothes some day when we were crusing (she would kill) but it doesnt. Whut them fabrik peeple kall kolorfast!!!!

did mine in simple green/water mix soaking in a bucket and scrub them with a brush...sun dry...

anyone try having them dry cleaned? seems like the simplest solution
