BB/Hemi reverse rotation mechanical fan

What would be my options for a reverse rotation clutch fan? I am thinking of putting the SD concepts serpentine belt on my hemi and I want to run a clutch fan. Can I used a standard clutch and find a 7 blade fan with the vanes going the opposite direction? I am done with electric fans. Tim

The fan clutch has to be for the correct rotation.


There are tons of reverse rotation fans out there. Basically any RWD vehicle with a serpentine belt has a fan that rotates counterclockwise.

My 1993 Chevy Suburban is an example. Thermal clutch, reverse rotation water pump and fan.

IMHO there is a ton of interchange between fans, a lot more than you may imagine. So look for the fan/clutch assembly in the Internet Lending Library (Rockauto) and get one that fits. If the pilot stub from front of water pump is 0.625, then that pump to clutch circle diameter isn't important if the clutch hub flange has slotted holes.
Then you use the fan matching the thermal clutch.

Dakota applications

early dodge magnum engines had a reverse rotation fan and clutch setup. or go direct drive with a flex fan. we've had customers do both depending on how much clearance they have.

Most people use electric fans, I am going old school with a clutch fan. The Dakota fan is 5 blades, I want to find a 7 blade if possible. Thanks Everyone, Tim

i found a ford bronco ll one with big plastic blades to run on my cummins 4bt---same thread pattern as the dodge cummins...

There is a reverse rotation Jeep clutch application that is the heavy duty and is only .5 inches taller than the Jag unit...may have to see how that one fits. Tim
