1970 Challenger Core Support Measurements - 12/05/17 09:44 PM

Good Afternoon,

I am replacing the front radiator support (top and bottom) on a 1970 Challenger. We removed the old one before taking any measurements (yeah, pretty dumb I know). Does anyone have some measurements I can use to mount the new one?

Thanks!!

Just in case you didn't know part of the vin number is on the upper support.

Yeah, actually on the 70 Challengers some were and some weren't, had a whole other post on here about that lol. This one did not. It was on the cowl though.

Some are stamped on the top of the upper support and some on the side of the upper support. Some may be covered by the antifreeze decal.

If yours is missing and the cowl is stamped I would suspect it was replaced before. Either way it doesn't matter now.

The lower butts up against the two "L" shaped brackets that are on the frame rail.

The top only really goes on one way.

I could measure all 7 of my Challengers and I bet no two are the same if I measured from the upper support to the firewall.

Hi Morty,

Been round and round on this one. Mine was definitely the original with no stampings. Talked to a lot of people who have them without as well. Like you said, doesn't matter now as the whole thing is being replace smile

If you could get me just a rough measurement in some kind of X Pattern I would be grateful!!

Thanks,
Jim
