71 roadrunner gas tank install - 11/26/17 07:19 PM

took my old tank out and replaced with a new repo one, my question is do i have to do anything with the vent lines, they are still in place, can i just hook them back up, do they need to be cleaned out or anything or is that inconsequencial? im just putting a survivoir back together not doing a concours car, also the original fuel lines are still on it, i just shot some parts blaster/ rust remover thru them then hit it with compressed air, anything else i need to do there..? thanks guys

blow some air thru the vent lines to be sure they are clear. make sure there isn't a mud dauber wasp's nest in the vent line up by the fill cap that'll effect the filling of the tank.

When refurbishing a cars fuel system and not replacing the hard lines I always flush them with solvent. I rig up a rubber suction hose to the hard line and a second line that "Y's" off of it and used a compressed air nozzle to suck the solvent through the line. I use acetone and run it through the lines until it runs clear. When done blow through the lines with compressed air and done. I line acetone because it dissolves most anything, It evaporates quickly, and doesn't leave a residue.
