I have one in my challenger that I got off ebay 3-4 years ago the whole deal was like $300 IIRC with the dodge center cap, the woodgrain isn't perfect it has the grooves but the the color is almost all the same but they may have updated them since. also like most repop or rebuilt rim blow wheels it doesn't work, on mine the wire wasn't connected to anything so I pulled it out but over all I am happy with it I think it is a good looking wheel

The "older" Ebay units sold had no functioning switch, this a new release from OER that has a functioning rimblow switch....

Nice looking wheel. Glad I sold my Nos one years back $$$$. Classic says it will also fit 70-up a-body with an adaptor to give it a "custom" look. LOL I pulled probably 15 out of Darts they had way more installed in them from the factory...

Agreed, we had some local darts with them. Very strange to see that great looking wheel in a plain-Jane dart.

Thx

I also got one out of a '71 Dart back in the mid-80's - it's almost like new.

I understand rimblows were standard on 71 Swingers

The Rimblow was part of the "Swinger" package in '71. I think it could be deleted for credit, but don't quote me on that. But most '71 Swingers had Rimblow wheels.

Well, except mine. The folks I bought my car from swapped in a 3-spoke wheel and kept the rimblow for themselves.

So, I received a 40% off coupon over the weekend and decide to make a purchase. The wheel was $303 discounted plus $40 in shipping. They are backordered and won't be shipping until February so I'll report back.

You could buy one of those...

Then there's always Doug Lepak...

I put a beautifuly restored rimblow in my Challenger. Looks great but operationally a pita.

When I wish to quickly hit the horn, I still instinctively smack the center button 1st. Not only does the horn not honk,,,duh,,,the button invariably falls off into my lap.

Then when I regain my senses and squeeze the rim, if I do not catch it just right with tips of my fingers, it does not fire off.

By by the time I do get all co-ordinated and get a toot, the guy who ran the red light that started it all is down the block running the next light and cannot hear me anyway.

Trying to figure how to convert rrimblow to a horn button blower at this point.

Oh well, progress!

Can be done, you chisel off the spot welded cap ring on blow rim steering wheel, then mount a stock 72-74 challenger/cuda horn assy by drilling and tapping for the 3 small machine thread screws, take the steel horn button plate out the plastic 72-74 horn cap, transfer it to rim blow cap, I've done it for 2 of my E bodies

The Cuda blow rim cap lends itself to this swap nicely, the Challenger cap required me to machine a new outer decorative horn cap ring out of aluminum to make up the space the cap was raised off the wheel, rather tedious, and you need a milling machine and lathe...

Member Brad70 had an alternate idea for his tuff wheel, which you could apply to your I assume 1970 Challenger...Brad also makes/sell a number of Mopar related items should you wish to pursue this endeavor?

Here's a link to his blow rim capped tuff wheel project...

Good stuff.

Suspect a few of these would sell if produced by one of our machinist friends on this forum.

Thank you.
