vinegar and water using newspaper to wipe it down.
Or bon ami and a damp sponge if it's really stuck.

I've used CLR but it leaves a film that has to be washed off.

I used purple cleaner , put it on let it soak about a minute and rub it with 00 steel wool shouldn't have to rub it hard!

Try to stay away from steel wool or SOS pads.. No matter what is said on here you will leave small scratches...
If you can chemically clean it ( no abrasives ) that it the best way.. Try some different cleaners..
Bon Ami seems to be the least damaging abrasive...

0000 Steel wool, Barkeepers Friend, and warm water. Came right off with no issues.

anyone ever try the brass or copper wool on glass ? i would think those would be softer than the steel wool ?
