where does these cable go

69 b body heater control panel have two cables where does the temp cable connect two on heater box.is it closes to accelerator pedal or close to the passenger side connector?the temp cable is the one on the left side of control panel.see pics below.thanks

I dont have an exact answer but with the lever moved to DEF whichever cable end moves it would be connected to the door that now directs flow up to the defroster vents in the dash if that helps

The defroster/heat cable goes on the left side of the box.
