would evaporust be a good dip for siezed carb linkage? if not any tricks?

What's seized exactly? Shafts & Butterflies or just the side linkage? Evaporust works on rust it can reach but if the rust is in tight areas like throttle shafts inside the bores, etc. it won't get in there enough to work in most cases.

that's what I would do,soak it in evaporust since you already have some, otherwise I'd just let it set in some regular solvent.

Diesel is a good cheap soak liquid too. Heat is your friend.

i soaked a pair of 1952 rambler carbs in ATF that were completely froze solid. loosened them right up, including the mix screws. kinda messy, but it worked. if you are looking for speed though, i don't remember how long it took because i just dumped 'em in and forgot about them for weeks.
