Anyone have any tips for removing old dried up sealant on chrome windshield trim. Trying to clean and polish up the trim before we put it back on.

I've had good luck with PB blaster penetrating oil.
Also white kerosene.

Blaster is also nice for taking goop off of window glass.

If that doesn't work 3M has an adhesive remover solvent. If its off the car and away from paint, lacquer thinner would be worth a try.

Thanks all.
Ended ended up using aircraft stripper (had a couple layers of previous sloppy paint masking to take care off at the same time). Only problem now is that the back of the trim looks better than the front of the trim. Now I need to learn how to a good way to polish chrome? Never ends!

If you know anyone with a soda blaster you can try that. We have cleaned chrome wheels and bumpers with it.
