Cop wheels and tire size - 08/17/17 06:28 PM

I have a set of 215/65r/15 tires, are they to small in width for the 70-80s cop 15" wheel?

They came with 205/70/15's on the Police Package cars back in the day. They were a 15X7 rim. Goodyear Eagle GT's were the popular choice.

215 is a good width. I have 235/70R15 on mine, '89 Diplomat.

215/65 might be too tall for a 69 Barracuda in front, but you'd have to check to be sure. I ran 215/60's and 225/60's on the front of my '69 Valiant, but the Valiant wheel openings are a bit more generous on the Valiant.

i put 205-60's on a 7" wheel on the front of my buddy's 72 duster. fit is good, but very close to the bottom of front of front wheel opening. tire size fits the wheels very good.

They're going on a 65 Belvedeer b-body

I'd try and go with at least 225/70's for a B Body Belvedere.
