I have found the ppg info in the tech archives on here i tried giving those numbers to the local paint store that deals in ppg paint , and he told me those numbers wont help him. All i want is to get the best closest to factory F6 green i can and nothing comes out right. Any help would be appretiated. Thanks guys

Good Evening

Don't know if this will help, however, my body guy used Apple Green Code 15U as an undercoat. It's from a Daewoo. The brand was Nason. This was from a computer match.

Good Luck

Are you going single stage as original or BB/CC?...are you "locked in" to using PPG only?

I want to do base coat, clear coat. Ill uae anything i can to get the corrext affect, as long as its base / clear. The colors always seem to light. Or to silvery, or come out looking like canned pea green like crossfire paint did.

Here is the base coat clear coat recipe I used on my A12. Hope this helps.

We color mapped it from an original Lynch Road deck lid. Here is the side by side comparison.

Re: F6 GREEN driving me nuts - 06/27/17 07:38 AM

You are talking about 1969 Dodge F6 - "bright green metallic", correct?

not '69 Plymouth "rallye green"

Re: F6 GREEN driving me nuts - 06/27/17 09:14 AM

Yes f6, not rallye green. Which is darker.

I bought f6 in ppg deltron, it couldn't have matched the factory color on the car in the protected areas any better if it was custom mixed. I'm never impressed with the coverage of deltron, but color match it's good as it gets.

Was F6 ever called Spring Green? aka Tom Lembeck's Hemi Daytona

Re: F6 GREEN driving me nuts - 06/28/17 03:38 PM

please forgive this hijack, but i've been meaning to ask you for a long time now. the front "bumper" on your daytona, what was the source for that, or is it custom fabbed ? reason i'm asking, was during that time frame, pa. was really picky about having "bumpers" on ALL vehicles, and the daytona/superbird nosecones were a problem. TIA !

I believe yes it was because it was a late 69 color that came out in the spring of the year

...F6 was a "late" edition to the "spring colors" line up, hence some may have referred to it as "spring green"

The wingcars were faced with 2 issues for the 1970 model year, front bumpers and the elimination of vacuum motor operated headlights to meet federal safety standards, some States did indeed try to prevent the sales of wing cars...

ALL the 70 Superbirds were completed by Dec 69 to help them slip by the 70 regulations, although they were fitted with a front rubber "bumper" strip

regarding vehicles like mine, there were only 3 1970 Daytonas built back in the day, all 3 where outfitted with some sort of custom fabbed bumper, the Plum Crazy 70 Daytona had a set of 63-7 Corvette bumpers modified to fit the nose, the owner removed them in the late 70's when repainting the car, the F6 Daytona and the B5 Daytona wore the same "loop" style front bumper to comply with 70 bumper standards back in the day, the $64,000 question is still when, who, why the 70 Daytonas were built

Here's a few current and vintage pics...

Ill agree 💯%. I just sampled several paints and PPG Deltron was easily the closest.
