1970 B-body 3-speed manual floor shift linkage, pics?

I know that the 1970 B-body 3-speed manual floor shift linkage is a one year only deal, does anyone have photos of the actual shift rods in the installed positions & / or off the transmission?

The FSM shows it, floor shift, column shift both types of 3 speeds.

so 70 B body really does not cut it for an application.

Carlisle is coming up & I need visual help so I know what to look for.

I am beginning to wonder if anyone at all has even seen any.

There is a member here with a Coronet 440 with 383 and a 3-speed on the floor. Can't remember his name (handle begins with an "A"?) but he's from Nova Scotia I think? Or was that North Carolina?

You might check with member sixpacbee who has a 70 383 3 speed car for sale in 70 back b body. Hope this helps.

Almost looks like it uses the 4 speed 1-2 and 3-4 rods on a different shifter ?

The B-body floor pans changed from '70 to '71 & the '70 unit also has the reverse lockout lever.

Yes I know , just a reference photo of something that went thru my head. I have only ever seen an E body with a 3 speed even though they were standard equipment.

I did buy a complete '74 B-body unit, I will be picking it up at Carlisle.

It has the shifter on the front boss.

(it was also about 90% less than the one one ebay now)

I am collecting up parts for a photographic ID guide since good info on these does not seem easy to find.

I wonder if the one on ebag has the big bearing retainer for the 383s he makes no mention of it.

It is shown with a /6 bellhousing, so the big retainer is doubtful.

I just noticed that didn't catch it before.

The good news from & since the Carlisle show;

I have found what I believe to be the correct;

Reverse / first arm

2nd / 3rd rod

Reverse lockout rod

Shifter handle

I am still searching for;

The correct B-body diamond shaped shifter mechanism to transmission bracket

The correct 2nd / 3rd shift arm

The correct Reverse / first rod

If anyone has photos of a complete set up for a 1970 B-body with floor shift, I would LOVE to see them.

Photos of the parts I am missing as mentioned above would be great too.

I mocked up what I think are the correct parts with some of I know are not correct & it does shift OK, but I want to have all correct parts for the article with photos I want to do.

(I have the 1970 A & E body sets covered at this point)

Yes they are.

The one behind it is identical, just different shift handles for console vs. no console.

Are your shifter ball threads RH fine thread or LH course thread?

I will have to check, I know its a black ball.

There are 4 variants of the ball too.

Chrysler did not make this stuff easy to figure out 50 years later.
