How much larger is a Duster than a 66 Barracuda

I know the wheel base is. But what about the body, looks close?

A body vs A body. Other than comfort and safety differences, not very much difference.

Later A bodies are a bit wider

I own a 65 Cuda, but I have never owned a Duster/Demon so I dunno the specifics.

1970 Duster is a little larger than a 1966 Barracuda.

Wheelbase- +2"
OAL- same
Width- +1"
Front track- +1"
Width between front frame rails- it was 10 years ago when I compared my '66 V100 to my '68 V200 so I can't recall, it's either +1.5"(most likely correct) or +3"(1.5" per side)

Weight- compared to a '70 Duster, '66 Barracuda about 50 lbs more, a '66 Valiant would be about 50 lbs less
compared to a '73-up Duster would be about the same as a '66 Barracuda

Was late when I posted the Question and forgot to add it is outside body size I am looking at. I know wheel base is shorter on the early A.
To me a car cover from a 66 Barracuda Fast Back should fit a Duster but web sites say no. Friend has one but lives far away so hate to have it sent and not fit a 1970 Up Duster, Dart Sport, Demon.

Look at the "dealership data books" on hamtramck historical. There will be a page for "Basic Dimensions" in each 66 Barracuda and 70 Duster book.

The factory was good about length width specs on the cars. You will get exact tip to tip spec diagram.

That said. I'm sure a 74 duster car cover will fit over a 66 Barracuda. A form fited California Car Cover for a 66 Barracuda will fit more snug in certain areas. But a 74 Duster will fit pretty good since it's a little bigger everywhere and has a fastback like roofline.

I was 100% sure of that but was wondering the pther way around the smaller Cuda cover on the larger Duster

So did you look up the width length and height dimensions from the factory info on Barry's site?

Yes I tried. Do not know what page to look at looked and looked before posting here.
Looked at AMA specs ect sill weeding threw it.
Thus wanted to ask here. Figured smome one with all the guys here {and few gals} someone would say a duster demom ect is X amount longer wider ect or so close it does not matter

Having had a 65 Barracuda and a 71 Duster, I'm not sure how all the numbers compared, but I would think a form fitting Barracuda cover is not going to fit a Duster very well.

Its going to get pretty tight around the roof area. The roof line on the Duster is wider and more squared, while the Barracuda was more narrow and more rounded, especially at the rear window area.

If the cover was not so form fitting, then the Barracuda cover might fit the Duster OK, but I still think it will be pretty tight. Gene

I called the maker of the cover. thet said the 1966 Cuda is made same height and widt. But is made 183.00" long and the Duster is 187.5
but had some extra flannel, left over, heavier than they normally use. From a special order. So made up some in a few lengths with no mirror pockets. AS SEMI CUSTOMS.
And would send one at 100 bucks.

Was that California car cover or Covercraft?

Since the 1966 Barracuda one was going ti be to short. I was gonna get a Dust Top from California or Covercraft. But the close out store at Covercraft had some soft ones they just made up.
I am putting a California outdoor Noah on top it. I have that on now. But would like the indoor. As I do leave the door open at times and we get rain.
So I will have a nice soft indoor to keep car dust / dirt free as I can. And if It get bumped into. And the outdoor Cali one. So the guy next to me can blow grass, dirt, and leaves etc. on it.
Was 90 bucks plus ship. In a thicker material than Dust Top, think it is flannel? So think that was the best move

It was the CoverCraft Outlet store they just have one in Oklahoma and one in California! 95% sure that was the address in I think same local in California. Was transferred on phone there to Outlet store from main place. So not 100% sure. Patti the lady that deals in overruns and blemished. Is out on vacation this week and a guy helped me. These Polycotton , Fannel and Noah were not even put up yet. Just in from Factory.
They had some Noah in that both sizes.
They put them in store and on Ebay As "Blemished" or "Over Runs" panel color may not match, Or special color runs that they have extra material so run it till gone. As over runs. Real savings there but only 30 day warranty. Said no tears ect should be 100% just a Blemish or off color. Or even just a non standard material or color
