strut rod bushing - what would you use

On the strut rod bushings. Here's what I can pick from. I have the originals, I have a set nos of moog upgraded bushings - which have a metal shaft that is flat on one side and goes through the bushing, I have a set of hard rubber with no shaft, and I have a set I bought off the company that advertises on the back of mopar muscle - it was poly - something. Real hard plastic and I think those have a shaft as well. Question - I'm sure it matters - but with those choices what would you pick ? The poly ones came in a front end kit I bought but I ended up using nos moog on the UCA and LCA bushings - and springs - so I never opened the nag inside the box.

Depends on what you are putting them in.

I know the poly strut rod bushings are very incorrect for my A body, pushes the LCA back about 1/2" too far.

I had read the poly gave a very stiff ride - I remember that - and then I tracked down the nos - US moogs

Use the poly. Huge improvement over stock rubber. You will notice no difference in the ride except handling will be better especially when braking.

In general, I think poly is nice in that location but it may have different length and throw alignment off as mentioned above. With fixed length strut rods, I would choose the Moog... especially if rubber worked well for you before. With adjustable rods, the poly.

My poly strut rod bushing has failed after a short time use. I had bought this set a long time ago, so time may be the enemy with poly. Time to pull the front end apart. A lot of work for a $20 part. I also have the Moog bushings, rubber is going back in!

i replaced with all poly in my 69 RR last year except the lower control arms. i used moog rubber bushings cause from what i had read on several sites, these are the ones that are inclined to squeak.

so far, so good!

What are you going to do with the car? Trailer queen, stock driver, auto cross, 9 second drag racing?

I just rebuilt my '69 Charger suspension, and after measuring where the lower control arm wanted to be at ride height, where that put the strut rod, and how thick the strut rod bushing should be, I measured that distance, and shaved down the rear bushing to that thickness. With that, both bushings were still thicker than the metal sleeve they included in the poly bushing kit from PST. I coated the surfaces with silicone grease, torqued them up, and they don't ride any worse than rubber. I don't see how they could in that location anyways.
