Jeep Commander "battery" light - 01/13/17 03:20 AM

My daughter-in-law has a Jeep Commander that the battery light comes on at random. She had it checked at Auto Zone and the battery and alternator check out OK, although the lightr wasn't on at the time. She's headed to her mom and dad's tomorrow 180 miles away and is leary of taking the car. Any ideas??

I don't know if that jeep is equipped but that is what the sensor does.

Tell her have the codes checked in the PCM. It may have set a code in the PCM about the charging system. They can set codes for the alt field circuit and other charging problems so if it has a code or a secondary indicator it may tell what circuit had a problem. Ron
