1969 Coronet vs superbee - 10/10/16 12:55 PM

If the instrument cluster was an option or missing how can you tell the difference between the two. Say someone ordered a medium level coronet with H code engine did that make it a superbee.

First 4 in the VIN tells the tale. WM21 or WM23 is a 'Bee.

The Super Bee will have a rally dash in it for one thing. Unless it is an R/T model with the optional rally dash. All other Coronets had the standard sweep style dash.

If it's a WH then it's a Coronet 440

WL = Coronet Deluxe

WM = Super B

WH = Coronet 440

WP = Coronet 500

WS = Coronet R/T

Of course this is the two first letters of the VIN (vehicle identification number)

Pretty sure there are factory original B's out there with the plain jane dash (probably a bunch)

Some were pretty stripped down for the 'entry level' guy that wanted mopower?

All Super Bees 1968-1971 came standard with rally gauges.

My bad?

Guess the ones I have seen over the years were clones.

You can get an H code engine is any coronet except an R/T. That includes a 4 door sedan and station wagon.
