A BODY VIN STAMPS

LOOKING AT A 73 DART SPORT,I WOULD THINK THERE IS ONE ON THE RADIATOR SUPPORT,IS THERE ALSO ONE ON THE COWL LIKE AN E BODY?AND IF SO WHERE SHOULD I LOOK?THANKS DAVID

Maybe on rear package tray near speaker hole.

Should be on the back package tray close to the speaker hole area.

Correct, core support and package try sheet metal (which can't be seen without the package tray itself being removed).

Does this vary with the year? My '72 has one on the left trunk lip...

I think the 29s got them on the package tray and the 23s got them on the trunk rail .

Depends on what model, but the Dart Sport is not on the trunk lip rail

i thought these stamps were associated with the data plate----car production number not vin number.....

Depends on the car... and plant.

Most have the rear stamp between speaker hole and window channel driver side. Fold down rear seat cars are all over the place on occasion.

NO, starting in 1969, it will be the last 8 digits of the cars VIN .

When speaking about A bodies, beginning in 1970 ? the 29 body style, Duster & 71-up Dart Sport, Demon have the stamping on the package tray inside the car, the 23 style bodies had it on the trunk rail where it has always been .
