champion 12 or 13 or equivilent would be close. wallace racing has good plug heat range pics/info. what is your SCR? higher needs colder

compression range will be 9.0 to 9.8.champions foul out pretty quick that is what i have now.

there have been some good threads on plug type, iirc NGK got good reviews & that most all of em are made overseas now

I've been using Autolite 85's in all my big blocks, with good results. They don't foul and they last. I've used them in 383's, 400's and 440's. Compressions have run the gamut from 7.8 to an honest 10:1 and everything in between.

Yup the Autolite 85 or 86 is a very consistent plug. On my oil burner I used Champions out to RJ17YC extended tip and it still fouled faster than the autolite, but my oil burner was at 1 Qt per 100 or 200 miles.
NGK have always been made overseas along with Nippondenso (ND) which also made the Accel U-groove plugs. Both very nice plugs.
I keep saying use AC plugs, they have been consistent high quality for me. With my oil burner I went through a lot of plugs.

I like the AC Delco R45S. Never a problem. Never fouled out. And the price is right too!

I second the Autolite 85's...at least for our 440 engines. Street or race. They don't foul. I'm guessing if you have the correct plugs and you're still fouling them, there are some tuning issues to overcome.

Champion RJ12YC or RJ14YC, try the colder (RJ12YC) one first. Autolite # 85 or the non resitor #75 work well also

I know many of you guys are down on Champion plugs and that's okay, everyone is entitled to there opinion, that is what makes the world go around. But I'm here to tell all of you that I installed a set of Champion RJ12YC in my mildly cam 440 engine back in year 2000 and I'm still running them today. Granted the car only sees 200-250 miles a year or so to car shows but times that by 16 years and you get 3200-4000 miles with zero issues. I even pulled a couple of the plugs out this summer to look at them and they still looked fine. I'm not saying I'm a Champion guy, I'm just stating facts and whats worked in my car.

Ran autolite for years and would today with ne regrets.I switched to NGK years ago and am happy.
