I assume you mean 5.9 Magnum, it should and they should not be wet either so no corrosion from coolant exposure.

I don't know how much room you have. I have in the past gotten a bigger nut and welded it on the end of the stud. It heats it for removal, and you can use the nut to spin it out.

well I want to reuse them, so no welding anyway.

They can get stuck from the heat. I wouldn't try to re-use them unless they come right out. Buy new bolts.

We did the ones on the Durango when we replaced the manifold.I used my stud remover. Some good penetrating oil and they came right out.Used new ones as said as they are cheap.Rocky

Double nut them as you said and make sure you use a torch and heat the head where the studs go in, don't heat the studs.

Can you remove the engine mount bolts and lift the engine slightly to gain access? Exhaust stud removal could have bad possibilities depending on many factors.

Never worked on this vehicle so it may not help.

If you heat the studs, let them cool before you try to take them out. If they are still hot, even warm, the treads will pile up. Then you'll be hating life. The expansion and contraction of the stud will loosen it up.

When I say heat the stud, get it glowing red hot...

I usually heat the stud, then immediately hit it with Water Displacement 40th try. Repeat a few times & the studs will come right out (double nutted).

I don't really have any way to heat them up that hot. no torch.
Plus the exhaust is still hanging off them. That would suck up a lot of the heat.

I had thought about unbolting the motor mount, but I remember how much of a pain it was getting them in, I am afraid to do that.

I just wish I could remember if we stabbed the motor in with the manfolds on or if I put them on after. if I did it after then they had to be out and I coated them with anti-seeze(sp).

never got them out.

loosened the motor mount and I could clear the ps box.
then I got the ps box out.
I put the exhaust back in while the ps box was loose.
