dumb question of the day - 05/12/16 03:08 PM

Was the 340 wedge decal in the early 70's a factory option, or aftermarket?

not 100% sure, but i really believe it was an option, or possibly part of a "package". hopefully, others will clarify.

The duster twister package was for /6 and 318 cars in 71 and 72 ... 73 also I believe ...

The 340 wedge decal was a 71 ONLY option ... I don't think that it was a 70 or 72 option .

As per usual, you're 100% correct Mr RR.

So it was a factory option, not dealer or after market, correct?

It was a factory option, some of the decals may have been shipped inside the cars and installed by the dealership.

That's 1971 only code V24 performance hood treatment option. Blacked out hood and giant CID decal came together.

Has nothing to do with the Twister Package which is not available on the 340, it's the V24 stripe option.

The 1972 340 Duster had a V21 option, it was the same (or it appears to be, minus the socops) as the black hood option the came on the /6-318 Twisters.
Not as cool as the 1971 V24 but could have been if the 340 callout wasn't dropped.

Hmmmmm lets see, JohnRR corrected me, I agreed. So it looks like I did in fact 'got it' the first time.
