69 GTX Torsion Bars match pair?

Winter front end project, are these torsion bars a matched set? 388R & 780 on right and 239L & 777 on left. Do #'s cross reference as a pair for 69 GTX?

They are not a matched pair.
Should be 780 and 781 which are the lase three digits of the factory part numbers.

thanks, that is what i thought. they are correct for the application right? The left must have been changed due to accident.

looks like someone put part # 777 239L torsion bar in the GTX when it was wrecked. .880 diameter, the right is part # 780 388R diameter .920.

I am thinking this is not good! Correct? and I should get the 781 389L to match the right side correct?

yeh the 777 torsion bar i think is for a 318 B body, oddly i ran into that on my road runner but they actually put a 780 into the right side and left a 779 in the left, which don't match either. so these things i guess happen all the time.
you probably should get the 781 bar to match so it handles correctly.

what is the correct match 780 & 781 or 779 & 780. In the charger,RR, Suber Bee restoration guide it shows 779 for left & 780 for right. brown paint dabs to identify.

found the info:
My notes indicate the B-body Hemi torsion bars were left #781 & right #780 bars with diameter of .92 inches.

The base Roadrunner w/ 383 used HD bars left #779 & right #778 bars w/ diameter of .90 inches

In my parts book, the 780 & 781 bars are listed under Heavy Duty section and are specified for all 440, 426 applications and also under "extreme Duty" applications.

The 778 & 779 bars are listed also under Heavy Duty for all applications except 440 and 426 engines.

Plus 383 B and E cars automatically came with the 440/Hemi suspension (Xtra heavy duty) if they were equipped with an axel package like A31, w/3.91 gear or A36, w/3.55 gear ratio.
