TF2 Line and Throttle Pressure Adjustment

Does anyone know what the spec is for the line pressure adjustment allen screw for a 727tf valve body. Munroe's book says 1 5/16", but I'm not sure if the TF2 changes that.

What about the throttle pressure adjustment? Should there be a 3/16" gap from the tip of the valve to the arm??

These instructions are for the blue line pressure spring, not sure if it's the same with the orange spring.

Thanks John. Any idea what drill size drill bit that is for the throttle pressure adjustment? Somehow I remember 3/16".

I may call Transgo in the morning about line pressure adjustment with the orange spring. I wish I could find my instructions. I vaguely remember them saying the spring seat had to be flush with the retainer. But that seems odd to me.

The drill is 3/16" and the latest instructions have the line pressure adjuster seated against the retainer but don't know what spring they use in the latest kits.

If the throttle pressure stop is adjusted in too far, the trans won't up-shift when you back off the throttle at low speeds.
I have a new TF2 Kit at home, I can check what it recommends.
Is the photo the valve body you have? Looks like a 518 VB?

No, it's just a picture I found online. I was able to get the instructions from Transgo today. They recommend backing out the adjuster seat until it's just flush with the retainer. Man, it's confusing comparing the Carl Munroe book with the TF2 instructions. Completely contradictory. Thanks for the help guys.

I think the Monroe book has the size listed for the factory tool used to set the kickdown screw. I looked at the new TF-2 kit, even less info than the older kits had. No mention on adjusting the KD screw, just the pressure regulator adjustment.

The very first TF-2 kits set the throttle valve air gap at 1/8", later kits have it at 3/16". Most factory air gaps are around .200".

The dimension of the factory tool is 5/8" but it's used with the valves bottomed out, not as an air gap gauge.

if the TF-2 kit specs have changed [i believe a drill was used to set the gap], what could one expect if the gap spec was varied ? in other words, what happens when one goes wider or narrower in gap spacing ? and how much is too much [or too little] ?

The adjustment of the throttle valve isn't too critical, as long as there is some air gap with the VB on the bench.
