63 max wedge - 05/30/08 05:23 PM

Can anyone help I'm looking for photos of the heater pipes from the matrix to the water pump. I have just purchased the repro heater pipe set & need to know how they fasten to the inner fender.

many thanks

The correct hoses have 90° molded ends at the firewall and standoff brackets are used on the inner fender. A repop hose set should have instructions on where to drill for the brackets.

The photo below shows a repop hose set installed, the hoses should be routed over the master cylinder line not under it as the pic shows but everything else is correct.

Checkout what an authentic 63 Max Wedge block stamping looks like.

Re: 63 max wedge - 05/31/08 02:16 PM

It's a beautiful car, very tight and nicely detailed in correctness for a car that gets driven often (wheels are later replacements and should be black).

Best part? It's no trailer queen, he drives it like it was meant to be driven! Scared the ^*&t out of me when we went on a triple digit "cruise", those 14 x 5 inch tires don't do much to help keep it on the road.

Sitting on a bench seat with no seat belts in a car with stock drum brakes hurtling down a two lane blacktop at 100 plus with city traffic looming ahead =

Re: 63 max wedge - 05/31/08 04:37 PM

Thanks Scott the close ups are great.

The car is out of this world I have only ever seen one real max wedge car which was at the Mats this year 63 PLymouth Vert..

thanks again Billy.

Re: 63 max wedge - 05/31/08 04:51 PM

I looked the 63 vert over as well (at the Mats). Be careful using it for OE correct reference details, it was a VERY nice "real" car, but it had some detail issues as far as OE correctness goes.
