MSD spark plug wires? - 03/10/16 01:59 AM

I need a new set of wires for my 360 in a 68 Dart with headers and an HEI cap. Does anybody have a part number for premade wires? I was looking at MSD part number 32749. Anyone use this? im open to other brands too but the MSD wires seem like they should fit the bill. Thanks!

I would go with a set of Firecore wires. Do you have headers? You can get a custom set that won't burn the #5 and #7 wires twocents

Allow me to provide some technical information, knowing that even when given actual technical information/results that most people don't listen.

This test has been done at least on 4 cars and each time the Firecore wires made 4 finely tuned engines run better. 2 were six paks,[SB & BB] 1 was a thermo quad [360 built like a 69 340] and the other an Edelbrock 850 [healthy 440]. All cars had been tuned with an AF meter, hi res vacuum gage and digital tachometer timing light. Mild to wild.

3/4 cars had msd wires, the 4th had mopar wires. Using a Digital Ohm Meter the msd wires were check for their static resistance [ohms per foot]each time against the firecore. They all ohmed out the same. It's more like apples and oranges to check the firecore against the mopar stock wires. All of the non firecore wire sets were within 6 months of being new.

After each installation the cars were started and allowed to warm up. Each and every car picked up between 30 and 50 idle rpms. You will actually observe this with a digital readout tachometer. The other result noticed on the small block six pak was in the high vacuum cruise mode where a very light misfire could be heard echoing [for years] from the left side exhaust when running next to a concrete jersey barrier, was gone. All test subjects sounded and ran better.

Rick from Firecore did not compensate me in any way to provide this information. So if you want to argue with me - Go ahead - I am actually waiting for some one in particular....wave

Nice product there Firecore Sparky! drive

and by looking at the wires in near darkness looking for corona discharge.

I pulled the sealed and bonded plug end boot off one wire 5 years ago (my fault)
and Magnecor sold me a single wire replacement for about $15 plus $5 postage.

I have the more expensive maximum radio noise surpression ignition set from Magnecor, since i have a Becker Mexico Shortwave/longwave/ AM/FM radio in the dashboard. They helped with RFI but did not totally eliminate it.

I believe that ohms of resistance in the wire/plug do not significantly rob millijoules of spark energy, but instead extend the "burn time" of the spark.

A wire company that emphasizes low wire resistance per foot
as improving
combustion efficiency,
fuel economy,
or maximum horsepower
is trying to mislead you
with a simple but wrong sales tactic.

Fire core wires are really nice. I just laugh when someone on here says negative things about them.
