1968 440 HP Block numbers - Belvedere, IL?

I recently scored a 1968 440 HP block. The top rear near the oil ports shows "8D235xxx".

This should be the last eight of the VIN of the car it came out of, but I expected it to start "8A" (Lynch Road), "8B" (Hamtramck) or "8G" (St. Louis) and mot "8D" (Belvedere, IL).

What 440 HP would have been built at Belvedere, IL?

Cop car? Pretty sure Belvedere was building C bodies at that time.

The 440 HP was available in any full size Dodge or Plymouth except for station wagons. So it could be out of any 2 or 4 door Fury (I,II,III, Sport Fury or VIP), Monaco, Monaco 500, Polara 500 or Polara.

Outside of the VIN, fender tag and boss stamping, would one look for a dual exhaust 440 versus a single exhaust 440 C-body to tell the difference?

My buddy has a 69 Polara 500 convertible with a 440 Magnum, I have it at my place right now...

I had a '69 Newport with the TNT 440 in it. I still have the pie tin on the wall at my shop.

The HP engine in a C-body was not at all unusual. For one thing, it was not a very expensive box to check when ordering a car. For another thing, middle-aged men who liked to drive fast (my father-in-law for example) tended to drive Chryslers and liked having the biggest engine under the hood. Chrysler always had the reputation as a fast car, all the way back to the first one.
