Brake Backing Plate Coating

Just got done bead blasting a couple of backing plates and powder coating the exposed side of them.

Not sure what to do with the inside surface to keep it from rusting, powder coating a wear surface doesn't seem practical. What do you guys do?

I just bought a pair of used ones that had been powder coated by a prior owner (both sides). I dont see a problem with that & the only wear areas that could make dust (I would assume) would be the (6) pad contact areas and the anchor pin at the top & I think that'd be minimal. You have access to PC & I'd go ahead & do the inside also

Maybe get em ceramic coated? The only problem would be the heat they hold in if you are getting em hot.

I powder coated my rear backing plates over 10 years ago.
Just changed the pads recently and no wear what so ever on the contact points.

OK, you convinced me...they're cooking right now.
