Picture Request: Fuel sender ground strap/Installed

On the fuel sending unit goes the rubber hose, on the oppisit side of the rubber hose is the fuel line which goes up front to the pump. Now, did the original ground strap mount just below the rubber hose on the sender itself where the hose goes on?

I was thinking of making my own also, but was going to try drilling a hole in the "extra material" of the fuel tanks outer flange area, pitting an eyelet on a wire and using a sheetmetal screw to fasten it and then mount the other end of the wire to the frame maybe? ...That should ground out the tank/sender, you think?

You need to ground the sender rather than the tank. It will probably work, but if you ground the tank, you're relying on the sending unit, lock ring, and tank to all have clean, corrosion free contact for the ground path to work. Better ground the sending unit directly.
