Hemi K Member ???

Hemi K Member ??? - 12/21/15 09:10 PM

I have a Hemi K member that came out of a 65 Coronet, Will this fit in my 71 Cuda? I know the steering shaft angle may be off, and Im OK with that... Anyone know what if any difference there would be in a 65 B body Hemi K member VS a 66 and later one? For all I know it may be a 66 and later one that was put in the car for the swap... THANKS!!!

The drag link is different as is the skid plate and the driver side mount.

Not sure the older b-body k-member will bolt in or bolt in and locate the engine in the right location in an e-body

I know the later B body K frame bolts in a early B, but it changes engine location... Really not sure if the Hemi one changes... All the pics I find of Later B body ones look identical to what I have...

I need a 65 Hemi K member if you want to dispose of it.

Yes, the engine sits different in a E body compared to the older B bodies.

Why not work a trade for the right one you need?

I know the big block does, but do you know for sure that a Hemi did also?

The K member out of the 65 looks identical to a later B body one... Is the difference (if any) noticeable?

A true 65 Hemi k frame does not have any skid plate if my memory is correct. A 66 Hemi k frame will. I sold my 65 Hemi car so I can't look to see.

I believe the one in my 65 was made by Phil Newcomb (Hemispherical Productions, or something like that...) But does not have a skid plate, has sway bar holes in the front...

No Street Hemi in '65 so it's probably a '66 or later that was swapped in.

Yes, a Hemi does also. Remember they all used the same hoods and scoops and other stuff that didn't change between engines.

I know for a fact that a later 66- up hemi k frame in a 64/65 b-body moves the engine back about 3/4". Had this problem with a 64 when purchased and the cross ram touched the firewall. Installed a 64 hemi k frame and engine moved forward into the correct position.
