New AN Hose - Stainless or ?

New AN Hose - Stainless or ? - 12/20/15 12:16 AM

My flex fuel hoses have been installed for about 12 years... probably time to change them. I used Aeroquip standard SS braided in -8 and -6 originally. The main flex lines run from the rear of the pass side fender apron to the fuel rails. I can replace with the same or go with one of the non-metalic hoses. Suggestions including pro's and con's appreciated!

Aeroquip teflon line. Won't rot. Much smaller OD. But you will need all new hose ends.

The downside is really cost. Super easy to install.

I use parker Teflon, I have real milspec ends and they cost about $150.00 for the 45* ends each, the parker JIC industrial ends are around $20 each for straight. I think the aeroquip number is 666....it is. See the attached link for more information. Tim

That teflon sounds nice. I do have some special fittings, tight 90's, on my fuel rail to clear accessories. Not sure I could find similar for the Teflon. That would be a consideration.

I use soft anadized aluminum lines with AN fittings from the pump to the fuel regulator and TFE soft lines every else thumbs scope You can use steel lines also work If you want all flex lines then I would use the Teflon lined hose in the size you want to use.

Cab, I have mostly steel lines - repop OE for supply and return. I use the flex for gas tank and engine compartment connections down to the frame rail.

I did find a deal for 1/2" .035 wall stainless tubing, its a [censored] to bend but for $8.00 per 20' stick, I could not turn it down. I also got 3/8" for $12 I didn't turn it down either....
