1971 Roadrunner heater core question - 12/12/15 11:30 PM

My 1971 RR heater core finally sprung a leak. All the replacements I find online are for cars WITH a/c.

My RR is a non-ac car.

Does my car have the same heater core with or without A/C?

For example I was looking at this: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail...ord=heater+core

Also, I have never taken out a heater core. Does it really suck as bad as I have been told?

Send it to Glen Ray radiator and let them fix it, then you can sleep good knowing that it is the right one in your car.

(I'd pull it, and take it to your friendly neighborhood rad shop...

You might get out of it easy...)

A/C is different than non-a/c. I got a Spectra perineum from Autozone for mine. Fit like a glove.

I just checked Autozone and Rockauto and both are out of them. NAPA has them.

use your old heater hoses on the firewall nipples & modulate your garden hose psi to flush the antifreeze out of the core to elim any of it getting on the carpet etc when you pull/tip the heater box for removal (low psi-its already leaking)

Thanks for the heads up! I will block it off for now. I don't really need it currently in Florida, I just don't want the thing leaking. Now I have another thing to add to my list.

thanks again
